Editing needs vary.
Sometimes, your content needs substantive editing (or even help rewriting), but other times, it needs only a surface-level copy-edit. Writers often are too close to their content to notice spots that are unclear or that would be better reworded. I can help clarify and polish your content so that your message gets across easily.
I have spent most of my career editing magazine content. I also have experience editing books, articles, reports, blog posts, and communications, much of it for associations and universities.
Here are some examples of content I have edited:
- An article in palabra.: “Disrupting the School-to-Prison Pipeline“
- A report I edited for the Aurora Institute:
A special feature I edited for the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan:
Books:
Prairie Up: An Introduction to Natural Garden Design, by Benjamin Vogt, University of Illinois Press
Playful Protest, by Kristie Soares, University of Illinois Press
Danzón Days: Age, Race, and Romance in Mexico, by Hettie Malcomson, University of Illinois Press
Harvesting Witnesses’ Stories, by Katherine James, AAJ Press
